Profile

Born in 1968, grew up in northern California. Well known for his abstract work and bold geometric paintings, Mark Grotjahn’s work grows out of conceptual practices and the painters studio. Grotjahn’s work has been the subject of solo museum exhibitions including at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
