Profile
1935 Born in Nagasaki. After graduating from Fukuoka Chuo High School, began career as an artist
1956 Selected for the 24th Independent Art Exhibition
1957~1961 Became member of the avant garde art collective Kyushu-ha
1964 Discovered artist Sakuheibei Yamamoto, unveiled Roulette series at Nan Garo
Spent the next 19 years in relative silence before re-emerging in 1983 with the large-scale painting series Ptolemaic Theory.
He then followed this with several other series of large scale works.
Currently lives in Fukuoka.
