Profile

While working as director of Miguel Abreu Gallery, Neustein is an independent curator and writer based in New York.

She has planned a number of exhibitions, including Maintenance Required (2013) at The Kitchen in New York as a Helena Rubinstein Curatorial Fellow in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program, and Technokinesis (2014), a bi-coastal group exhibition co-organized with Jenny Jaskey at Blum & Poe in Los Angeles and New York.

Between 2016-2017, Neustein will organize several solo and group exhibitions at Kaikai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo, including a solo exhibition by Oliver Laric, a two-person exhibition with Sam Lewitt and Rachel Rose, and a collaborative project with Jordan Wolfson and Takashi Murakami. Neustein has written reviews and feature interviews for Flash Art and Brooklyn Rail, as well as a catalogue text for the New York Painting exhibition at the Kunst Museum in Bonn.

Neustein was featured as the guest editor in Bijutsu Techo’s special September issue titled “The New York Art Scene,” a project organized by Takashi Murakami which sought to introduce aspects of current art production to Japan.
